Hello again everyone. Well, I finally went back to html issues again. I always loved to send out my issues in html.

The last time I used html, I didn't get a lot of requests for text issues, so I won't publish in text unless enough people ask for it. If you would like to have the text as an alternative, please send me an email and if I get enough requests, then I will add it.

As if now I am going to send the html straight to your inbox, instead of a link to an online version. We will see how it goes with the issues.

I know there must be tons of mistakes in today's issue. Bear with me. Let me know of the problems and I will fix them.

I grabbed this tip from Markus Allens' $10,000 Marketing Tip Of The Day ezine. I love this ezine because every day I get valuable tips from him that help me as a business owner, not help him to sell any products. 

We forget sometimes that the main reason of newsletters is to inform, and that also extends to advertising as well. As an advertiser, you want to show the public what you can offer them and that is through advertising. Ads compliment an ezine, not hinder it. It is up to you as a publisher to decide what to do with it.

Hurt or Hinder, you decide.

Ad Space in any newsletter or web site is a very profitable method of getting your business known across the web. But to advertise in an ebook is a goldmine in itself.

Since ebooks can be resold and downloaded thousands if not millions of times, the potential for residual income is endless.

One thing to remember is to be tasteful with your ads. You don't want to over do it on the ads and then provide a little bit of content. You will end up with tons of refunds unnecessarily.

Ads are very useful when targeted properly. Ebooks generate a lifetime income.

Ebook ads are permanent ads so you would normally charge a higher price than for any normal ads in your newsletter or your website.

Check around if you are not sure what to charge. This also goes for any eCourses or reports that you plan to write as well.

 

Brand Your Ebooks

Another option is to offer your readers to brand their copy of your ebook with their own ads. This is usually when they join the affiliate programs that are tied in with the ads. Most sites these days offer affiliate programs and when you want to see Viral marketing at it's best, just offer to brand their ebooks.

You can either do this for free with a branding tool or you can charge a one time fee for customization which may include your name, business name, and website plus your own affiliate links in each copy you sell.

Branding ebooks is a good viral marketing method because even if you have a free ebook to give away, with a branding tool, then many more people will want to download it to add their own affiliate links and therefore they grab sales as well. So it can be a win win situation for everyone.

Back Up Your Registry

I cannot stress this enough. With all the viruses wrecking havoc on our systems it is important not to lose your pc.

Even for those of you who love to download music and share files with others. Most of the software that comes with these programs are spyware. Not the usual " let me see your buying habits" spyware. This type of spyware crashes your systems, loses files, and nothing works right.

I should know. After a 4 hour tech support with Microsoft, I knew that it was the file sharing program I installed on my pc. I had to use Ad Aware to remove it and then restore my registry, reinstall my dialup connection ( which even though I have DSL, I still use my modem for faxes) 

The main thing is to back up your registry. Plus remember to Always disable your virus program before installing any new software 

To Back Up Your Registry:

Go to your start menu, 
Click on Run, then type in scanreg to start up your Windows Registry Checker. It will check your registry for any errors and then prompt you to back up your registry for the day. Click Yes and it's done. So for the next time you may have system issues, and need to restore your registry, that's how :)

 

Do You Know How To Restore Your Registry?

If you are not familiar with playing around in your Windows registry, leave it alone. I am very familiar with the registry but I don't touch it unless I am 100% sure about it.  

This is done in Dos Mode, at the prompt, you simply type in scanreg/restore then Enter.

There you will be presented with a list of backups that you have done with your registry. As long as there is no errors, it will restore it back to that date. What that also means is whatever you have installed after that date will have to be re-installed, but when faced with not having the pc running at all, its a sacrifice to make.

I notice that when I restore my registry I dont lose any emails or saved files, but any new programs that I installed do have to be reinstalled.

 

 That was my Tuesday tip for you.
