Welcome From Your Publisher...
======================================
Hi and welcome to another edition of MIBW.
A lot of information in todays's issue. I got so many great
responses regarding last weeks' Voice Your Opinion, you can
read the responses in the next column.
I am very busy expanding Ezine Ad Helper. But first things
first and that is the redesign of My IBiz Weekly.com. That is
coming along nicely and once that is done, then I can move on
to all my planned projects this year. A friend of mine once
told me I should write an Ideas ebook since I am always full of
ideas, hmmm,, it s a thought.
One thing I have learned is not everything you
think of is the right idea for YOU and YOUR business. There are
so many factors to this, you can't do it all. I learned that
the hard way this year
Don't forget Donesia, this is the last two weeks of the Buy
One Get One Free sale on all advertising with MIBW. After that,
the sale is over, finish, caput Order Your Ad today and get a
second ad free http://myibizweekly.com/adrates.htm
But the most important thing and this makes me want to tell the
whole world is what I am so proud of. My daughters have made
the honor roll again. No matter what I do in business, this is
what is most important to me and I am grinning from ear to ear.
For those of you who are new to MIBW don't know much about me,
I live in South Carolina, usa, I am originally from Brooklyn,
New York and still have the accent to prove it, even after
leaving New York over 10 years ago :)
I have two daughters, who will be 9 and 8 this year. I myself
will be 31 in July. December will be my tenth wedding
anniversary. This is my third year of publishing MIBW and I
love it. Its been a good year and I am very grateful for
everything.
Oh and my name is pronounced Da-neesha. My father named me
after the country Indonesia. I always wondered why he gave me
that name but I love it. You will never forget it...Now that's
brand recognition :)
Okay back to the issue..
Donesia,I have made a decision on the amount of bounces
that I receive. While I have my autoresponder set to remove
email addresses after 2 bounces, I am noticing that I am
receiving more bounces from hotmail and juno. Of course next to
that is yahoo addresses.
After this mailing Donesia,I am removing ALL hotmail and
juno addresses. Now that doesnt mean that I am banning those
domains, no but if you are a hotmail or juno user, you will
need to resubscribe on site http://myibizweekly.com or
http://ezineadhelper.com and please add
webmaster@ezineadhelper.com to your approved senders list. ALso
for those of you who keep full mailboxes, 2 times and you are
gone. It is not worth it to keep dead addresses. I would rather
have a very small list of people who read my issues than a lot
of nothing..
After three years, I can weather the storms of the ups and down
of list building.
I still have less than 10 people unsubscribe after a mailing
and that is very good. For those publishers who are not sure,
1% loss of your list weekly is the average for unsubscribes.
Today's article is a funny article from David Leonhardt."The
Work-from-home Fashion Primer" We all need a bit of humor these
days. It is all about our work at home dress code. And I
thought I was the only one who made pajamas a fashion statement
at the computer.
If anything working at home limits your wardrobe and thankfully
your budget. You dont have to run to the store all the time to
buy new clothes, no one sees you in the frust place. But that
doesn't mean I am sitting around in something from the
seventies either, unless they happened to bring the style back
Was I the only one who went through tons of those thermal
coffee cups at work? We were never allowed to keep an open
container by the computer, so why do we have no problem doing
it now with our own pc??
But That's another story...............
That is about it for today. Stay tuned for Friday's Classified
edition as well as the Nifty Thrifty Edition along with Ask
The Admistress. Have a great week,
Your Publisher,
Donesia

Are we just adding bonuses that aren't worth the time it
takes to mention it? Does adding useless bonuses increase or
decrease the value of your product, the answer might surprise
you.
Donesia,I think this is a case of "Do What We See Others
Do". I have seen some sites offer so many bonuses I wonder is
the product even worth it? Do you even remember what the
product was in the first place?
Maybe you should ask yourself, if you were to remove the
bonuses from your product or even your ezine, would you sell
as much or does it depend on what the bonus is in the first
place..
Can YOU Take the "No Bonus Challenge?" Send me your opinions here

Responses:
From Kristin Wilson........
"Hi Donesia!
My opinion on the free bonuses... Well, most of the time they
offer old ebooks or programs, or ones you can find for free all
over the place. These are worthless but I'm sure at least bring
in traffic and probably some sales. The ones that offer
original bonuses are the ones I will look at more and see if
it's something I need. Otherwise, I don't care."

From Marion Stearns
"Bonus items help newbies and small marketers so I do think
they do have a place with standard offers. This also depends on
the company reputation and the type of the total offer. If one
sells advertising, giving a free car or expensive plane tickets
away in a draw, doesn't seem realistic. A sincere offer that
big, might be workable in an annual giveaway. Proper use of
related (small + useful ) bonus items can work, until the
marketer becomes more experienced with bonus items. It's a
gradual learning process that one learns from experience. "

From Russ Wilson
"Donesia:
Hi, I feel that the web has gotten so hung up on offering
bonus' to bribe customers that the actual message is going un-
noticed. I have so many free ebooks that I could start a
library, and most of them aren't worth the time it took to
download them. Most are a rehash of someone elses idea.
I believe we need to get back to good copy, good products, and
forget the freebies. You don't see brick and mortar business
giving away the store just to get you to come in.
Thanks for letting me express myself."

From Your Publisher....
My goodness some sites, it seems like they would sell their
soul for a sale. Although sometimes it seems that way with some
of the stuff we see online, but that is another edition ;)
Here is a tip that I use for my site. I offer bonuses on my
site, but customers don't know about it at first.
When they are ready to order, they find out about some bonuses
that I offer. After they order, they also get more bonuses that
are useful to what they bought in the first place.
Just because you are allowed to give it away, doesn't mean
anyone wants it. Every month or so you have to evaluate what
you are selling and what you offer as a bonus.
Whether it is your ezine or your website, is anyone actually
downloading your bonuses? Do you have a tracking url to see if
people want this bonus.
Take the "No Bonus Challenge?" I did...
In fact I never offered bonuses until a few months ago when I
started offering Free Targeted Traffic as a bonus for
purchasing an ezine ad helper ad. It is a bonus that targets my
customers. My customers purchase from me because they want to
get the word out on their product or service. Targeted Traffic
fit right up that alley so that is the only bonus that I
advertise. Everything else, you find out after you order.
At first, it seemed as if I was the only one NOT offering
bonuses so when I decided to offer bonuses, I thought of
something that my customers can use, not just throw away.
It may be free to the customer, but not free to me, so while I
have to pay for the traffic for the customer, it is worth it to
offer something that is helpful to the customer.
Is the bonus helpful, yes, but my customers are not purchasing
just because of the traffic. Everyone knows there are ten
million places to get traffic online, so this is no big secret
here. It is what I call a helpful bonus, not a necessary bonus.
>> Tips on using Bonuses to Enhance Your Products and Services
Think before you add anything as a bonus.
Ask yourself:
"Does this fit in with my target market"
"Is this something that the customer can use"
"Do I really need to give away everything?"
" Do I even have permission in the first place to give it
away?" Remember resell rights and master resell rights are two
different terms. Don't get confused. One may allow you to sell
it but another will allow you to either sell or give away. That
is master resell rights. Don't get in trouble with the owner of
the product you are giving away if you are not allowed.
Surprise your customer with a bonus. Don't scream, if you order
right now, you can win a million dollars.. DUH, they will
appreciate surprises. That way you can tell if they really want
your product or just your bonus.
>> When to Offer Bonuses:
1. When someone subscribes to your ezine
2. When someone submits a free ad to your ezine. Why not send
them something that can help with their ad copy or what about
some tips on FTC compliance?
3. When someone downloads something from your site. Who says
that you can't find something targeted to help them out. Can
you say viral marketing here??
4. As a thank you for visiting your site.
5. When someone joins your downline. For all those MLM
lovers, you have to keep your downline happy right??
Remember the bonus doesn't have to be a freebie. It can be...
> A discount on one of your products
> An offer to purchase something that you are an affiliate.
Offer a bonus if they order through your link.
When I was a member of List fire, I would welcome every new
member of my downline with free ebooks and a discount on
advertising with me. I also offered anyone who joined through
my link a free solo ad as well. And they wonder why I had a
downline of 650 people. Viral marketing at its best,
The possibilities are endless, write a list and then get
started. Make sure your customers never forgets you.
If you want to add to this list, just send me an email

The Work-from-home Fashion Primer
======================================
By David Leonhardt
Last week, I reported how writers, stay-at-home parents and
online marketing geeks had chosen careers as hermits:
http://www.thehappyguy.com/hermit.html
Thousands of work-from-home hermits responded, confessing that
they were wearing their pajamas while reading my column.
Fortunately very few sent me photos. Here are some of the
questions they asked:
Q: Is it acceptable to wear pajamas at high noon if Nobody sees
me, or am I committing a fashion faux-pas.
A: It is totally acceptable to wear pajamas at high noon. You
can even wear them at low noon. In fact, you can wear them all
day long. The only exception is in England you must not wear
pajamas at tea time. Pajamas and tea don't mix. The combination
can be lethal. (See the November 2002 report: "Spontaneous
combustion among British work-at-home hermits.")
Q: How should I handle "casual Fridays" in my workplace?
A: I have replaced casual Fridays with "formal Thursdays".
Every Thursday, I take my daughter to the play center, forcing
me to shower, shave and don formal wear. Don't go overboard,
though. My three-piece suit includes jeans, t-shirt and shoes.
Q: But what if I never go out?
A: Then stick to casual Fridays. Why not make Friday the day
you wash your pajamas? All Nobody will see is the back of your
chair, anyway.
Q: What if FedEx Guy comes to the door?
A: Tell FedEx Guy it's casual Friday, and ask him if he really
wants to see how work-from-home hermits celebrate casual
Fridays.
Q: If I work from home, do I still need a purse?
A: Of course. Without a purse, what would you carry to the
bathroom? Make sure your purse matches your pajamas, though.
You would not want Nobody to catch you with a poorly
coordinated wardrobe. Personally, I don't have a purse, but
that's just a guy thing.
Q: What about taking out the garbage?
A: When the odor starts to repel the postman, you might need to
take out the garbage (just in case there is a rare check in the
mail). Wear your pajamas to the curb, but I suggest replacing
your slippers with shoes. Snowshoes are recommended in
Edmonton...except in July and August. Don't walk to the curb if
you live on a houseboat.
Q: I feel so alone. Is that normal?
A: Get over it. You are part of a glorious economic movement,
where people around the world choose to reject antiquated
social norms and barricade themselves in their homes to make
$53,976 in the first week of their new businesses. How could
you feel lonely with so much money?
Q: Wow. I made only $3 in my first week. I bet my husband $3
that I could stay in my home office for three straight days
without coming out. I won the bet, but I was forced to shower.
A: That's not a question.
Q: OK, what if I make only $3 a week?
A: You might have to share your pajamas with Nobody...until you
can afford a second pair.
Q: Is this really a growing trend?
A: Yes. The International Institute of Social Isolation reports
that by 2055, 95% of people will be operating a home based
business. The National Organization for Studying You (NOSY)
reports that by 2055, 95% of people will be sharing their
pajamas with Nobody...until they can afford a second pair.
Q: Wow. That's a lot of pajamas. What does this mean for the
future.
A: It means the pajama industry will become a major economic
force.
Q: Do you know any good pajama-based mutual funds I could
invest in to take advantage of this trend?
A: No, but how rich can you get investing $3 a week, anyway?
That's it, everything you wanted to know about fashion
etiquette for the work-from-home hermit. One more thing: if you
provide feedback to this article on a casual Friday, please
turn off your web cam.
